Assigned Estates Dockets, 1874-1982.
Description: Dockets kept for recording accounts of assignees. Assigned Estates are Prothonotary records pertaining to the liquidation of property for the benefit of creditors. The property owner, referred to as the Assignor, appoints an assignee whose function is to raise money to satisfy the debts of the property owner. The thirty-two volumes are indexed separately in Volume 26.
Content: Docket entries may include the name of assignor (owner of estate), their spouse, assignee, township or borough of the assignor, petition for appointment of appraisers, bonds, auditor's reports, amount paid to creditors, petitions, accounts and inventories of the estate.
